Surfing in Goa

Surfing is a surface water sport in which the surfer rides a surfboard on the crest. It is quite difficult compared to other water sports. You should learn the perfect timing to catch the wave, great balance to stand up on the board, make your first bottom turn and then really ride the wave. A 10 feet long-board on a small shore wave might be easy to start with, but actually reaching intermediate level will take a lot of time and exercises. Compared to fiberglass boards, a non-fiberglass board is lighter and easier to travel.

Calangute, Colva, Pololem, Vagator, Baga, Dona Puala, Miramar and Bogmalo beaches are some of the best beaches in Goa that offer surfing. These beaches have become an ultimate destination for water enthusiasts. For trying Surfing you should have proper training and its better to practice this sport under proper guidance.

Goa can be a perfect place for surfing especially for beginners and medium-level surfers. As the waves are tiny and inconsistent experienced surfer may not be satisfied with surfing in Goa. The best season for surfing and other water sports in Goa is from October to April.
